How to Use the Wii Fit to Lose Weight.

By Scott Mogul

A Wii Fit weight loss plan can be a great way to have fun, get in shape, and lose weight. If you are interested in a Wii weight loss plan, of course you will need to purchase a Wii Fit. Made by Nintendo, the Wii Fit includes a balance board that you stand on while doing activities and playing video games. The balance board reads your body movements just like the Wii remote. The Wii Fit will calculate your Body Mass Index (BMI) for you, and it allows you to set goals based on your own fitness needs and tracks your progress.

Your Wii Fit Weight Loss Plan

The Wii Fit allows you to customize a Wii weight loss plan that meets your needs. You set goals with regard to your desired BMI and the timeframe in which you want to achieve those goals, and the Wii Fit shows you calendars displaying your goals and graphs displaying your weight and BMI that also include your goals. It makes tracking your progress easy.

Your personalized Wii Fit weight loss plan can include a number of activities, including yoga, strength training, aerobics, and balance games like snowboarding and walking on a tightrope. You can get a good cardio workout with the aerobic activities, do some strength training, increase flexibility and decrease stress with yoga, and improve posture and balance with the balance games. You can customize a workout that includes the activities you enjoy and that will help you meet your fitness goals.

The Wii Fit also allows you to select a virtual trainer that will instruct you and encourage you on your Wii weight loss plan.

Benefits to a Wii Fit Weight Loss Plan

There are many benefits to a Wii weight loss plan.

Using the Wii Fit is fun and easy. The Wii Fit offers a number of different activities, so you won’t get bored. It also allows you to customize a workout routine to meet your individual needs, unlike exercise videos or DVDs that offer one routine for everyone. There are activities appropriate for any fitness level.

It is recommended that you use the Wii Fit for 30 – 45 minutes per day at least four days per week, which is less time than some exercise plans require. The Wii Fit is reasonably affordable. It does not take up a lot of space like some exercise equipment does.

A Wii weight loss plan has many advantages over joining a gym for exercise. It’s cheaper. You can work out in the privacy of your own home. You can do it whenever it’s convenient for you, rather than worrying about what hours the gym is open. And you don’t have to drive anywhere, saving you time and keeping you from having to go out in bad weather.

Since the Wii Fit allows you to set fitness goals and tracks your progress, it can motivate you to work out. It also helps you stay on track, an important part of any weight loss plan.

A Wii Fit can be fun for the whole family in addition to helping you meet your fitness goals, so it makes for a good investment. It will also store information about goals and BMI and all that stuff for up to eight people, so multiple family members can use it as part of their weight loss plan.

Buying a Wii Fit

If you want to embark on a Wii Fit weight loss plan, obviously you need to purchase a Wii Fit. Prices can really vary depending on where you buy one, but if you look online, you can find them on sale for under $100.

Scott, thank you for this information. I have used the snowboard program on WII at a friends home. It was fun but also nerve-wracking. Perhaps the weight-loss program would be better for me. hmmmmm
